The Cosmetic Surgery Show

The Harley Medical Group are featured in The Cosmetic Surgery Show, a brand new programme which will feature three cosmetic surgery clinics in Ireland, one of which is The Harley Medical Group. The show will be broadcast on TV3 for six weeks commencing on the 13th January. The Harley Medical Group worked extensively with TV3 to bring this in-depth insight into cosmetic surgery in Ireland to fruition.

Watch our patient Anna Mallon interviewed on Ireland AM, TV3

Co-presented in studio by Caroline Morahan and renowned Hollywood cosmetic surgeon, the star of station E -  Dr 90210 series, Dr Robert Rey,  the series will feature members of the public undergoing a range of plastic surgery procedures, such as face lifts, breast augmentation, tummy tucks and liposuction, comparing their results before and after surgery.

On the 20th January, the programme will follow the incredible journey of Anna Mallon, a 47 year old Mum of three undergoing a face-lift under the expert hands of The Harley Medical Group's renowned Cosmetic Surgeon, Dr Francois Duminy. Anna decided that after thirty years of hard work she wanted to start, what she termed as, the second phase of her life with a fresh look. Anna felt that her face looked continuously tired even though this is not how she felt and so gave herself a facelift as a present. Since her operation on the 17th September 2009, Anna has never looked back. To complete her look, Anna also had a line and wrinkle treatment to her forehead at The Harley Medical Group's Dublin clinic. She cannot believe the difference that it has made to her face and says that she can now go without make-up if she feels like it, something she could never previously have dreamt of.

The following week, the 27th January, The Cosmetic Surgery Show will follow Carol Dempsey aged 33 and also mother of three children as she undergoes liposuction to her thighs and lower legs. The operation was once again performed by The Harley Medical Group's top surgeon Dr Duminy on the 26th August 2009. Carol had found that no amount of dieting or exercise would lose the pockets of fat around her thighs and bottoms of her legs. As a result, she was tired of the constant struggle of trying to find clothes to fit her properly and decided to go ahead and have liposuction done to remove the excess fat. The procedure has changed the way Carol shops for clothes and is thrilled that she can now wear skinny jeans and ankle boots, items she could never have previously worn! Carol also said that the operation has given her a massive incentive to continue to go to the gym and be mindful of her diet.
The series will feature non-invasive treatments, such as dermal fillers, being carried out live in studio which are available at The Harley Medical Group. The series aims to get to the heart of many of the issues surrounding cosmetic surgery in Ireland and will feature a studio discussion about a different issue each week, as well as a polling of the public.

Finally, the show will take a look at many of the ground breaking procedures being practiced in other parts of the world such as the United States - some extraordinary, some completely shocking but all very interesting in their own way. The programme will ask whether the techniques used could be replicated in Ireland.
The series begins on Wednesday 13th January at 9pm on Irish station TV3, and will be broadcast for six weeks.
